We'll set up a streaming PC for you

Steamers don't have the same requirements for their PCs as other gamers. As well as offering good gaming performance, the PC must also be capable of streaming. It's obvious to us: you need a PC for each of these tasks in a single box. That's what we're doing right now, and we're even giving you the chance to win it.

"Who wants to put together a streaming PC?" asks Philipp Rüegg, Teamleader. "Assemble a PC while getting paid for it?" thinks my colleague Martin Jud (and I'm not outdone). No need to look for volunteers, we'll get started straight away.

Barely an hour later, we're not so sure. Christian Seeholzer, Category Planning Specialist, and his assistant Yannick Cejka help us spread out the components on the table. A HUGE pile of hardware faces us and gloats: "So you want to assemble us and make us work? Good luck!"

But what are we doing? Of course, we've already set up PCs on our own. Well, Martin's last one was in 2012 and mine was almost 15 years ago. And let's be honest: neither Martin nor I have ever installed a liquid cooling system. But don't let that put us off, we'll be assisted by Christian Seeholzer, Category Planning Specialist and passionate PC tinkerer. That way, you can be sure you're getting a truly exceptional PC and not a pile of junk.

Contest

What's so great about it, you might ask? First of all, there's Corsair's Obsidian 1000D mega tower. And inside, two PCs: an Intel/Nvidia machine for gaming and an Intel machine for streaming. The liquid cooling system will ensure optimum performance despite demanding tasks. Inside, you'll find the following manufacturer-sponsored components, among others:

Main machine

  • Intel i7-8700K 3.7 GHz
  • 32 GB RAM
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti STRIX
  • 4TB SSD and 24TB HDD mass storage

Streaming machine

  • Intel i7-8700K 3.7 GHz
  • 16 GB RAM
  • Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro
  • SSD 250 GB mass storage

Vous trouverez la liste de tous les composants ici.

How can you win this PC? It's simple: you have until 25 September to tell us why you should win in the box below and link us to your YouTube/Twitch channel. A link to your channel on one of these platforms is compulsory to enter the competition, as we'd like to give the PC away to an active streamer. Unfortunately, we won't be able to take into account replies posted in the comments.

Win streaming PC

Why would you of all people win the streaming PC? Please also enter your Youtube or Twitch channel (with link). Otherwise we will not be able to consider your participation.

The competition has ended.

What's next

At the end of the competition, a panel of judges will decide the winner. The jury is made up of Christian Seeholzer and Jan Heidenreich, both Category Marketing Specialist, and Martin Jud and Kevin Hofer, editors. You will need to collect the PC from Zurich yourself. We'll also be delighted to present the winner, so you should be okay with seeing your photo on digitec.ch.

At the moment, we're still assembling the components. As soon as we've finished with that, we'll of course let you know what the most complex steps have been. Obviously, we'll be testing the PC so you know what to expect if you're the lucky winner.
