Stiftung Warentest: "Inadequate" for the 800-euro Dyson
In a new test, five cordless hoovers were put to the test. Of all things, the expensive Dyson model ended up in last place.
A good hoover usually costs money. The results of the latest Foundation Product Test therefore make you sit up and take notice: The high-priced model "Gen5detect Absolute"
from the manufacturer Dyson performed the worst. It received an even 5.0.
This score is made up of several evaluation criteria. Above all, the "durability" of the appliance was rated as "poor". However, the Dyson also only achieved average results in other categories such as "suction power" and "handling".
Surprisingly, the model received overwhelmingly positive ratings from our users - despite its last place in the StiWa ranking. Almost 80 per cent gave it five stars in our shop.
Update from 26.01.24, 15:21: Statement from Dyson
Only one model received a "good" rating
The other four hoovers tested included the brands Bosch, Rowenta, Samsung and Xiaomi. The two inexpensive models, the Rowenta RH9958 X-Force and the Xiaomi Vacuum Cleaner, both scored "Sufficient". The Samsung Bespoke Jet received a "Satisfactory" (2.6).
Only the Bosch BSS825MULT achieved a good result: It passed the test with a 2.4. It was particularly convincing in the categories of safety (1.7) and durability (1.9).
