Smart and picture-perfect walls with memoboards

Pinboards are a great place to keep souvenirs, postcards and Post-its. And they make for a wall decoration with a personal touch. Get creative with your very own memoboard.
A tidy wall, a tidy mind. Memoboards are an easy and convenient way to keep order. Instead of having notes, stamps, shopping lists or restaurant menus lying around all over your home, collect them on your pinboard. Or set a stage for your favourite holiday shots or spread hand-written messages. I’ve set out to have a look at three different styles of memoboards. Choose the one that’s the best match for yourself and your furnishing style!
The classic version: cork pinboards
This sustainable and environmentally friendly version is a childhood memory of many of us – just like treading on pins that have fallen onto the floor. The colourful pins are what makes these boards so special: They add colour to your home and can be moved around as you like. These pinboards, the ones from OYOY for instance, are made of soft material, are easy to clean with a wet sponge and add a warm and personal touch to your home.
The futuristic version: magnetic glass boards
Modern magnetic boards made of tempered glass are an elegant way of collecting information. Processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments, tempered glass is much more robust than conventional glass. The Sigel models have won several design awards such as the «Red Dot» or the «German Design Award». Safety fittings make it possible to mount these boards without a frame, creating a free-floating, 3D look. The boards are decorative and handy: Write on them or use magnets to hang up your notes. If you prefer a bit of DIY, create your own magnetic wall board with special magnetic paint.
The natural version: wall chalkboards
You probably didn’t like writing on them at school, but they’re a fun gadget for your home: chalkboards. Write notes, quotes, shopping lists or anything else on these slate boards with chalk or chalk markers. Easy to clean and to reuse as often as you like.
Chalkboards are available in a range of designs: C-Con has developed a magnetic film with a helpful weekly structure, Securit has come up with a version that's mounted with a Velcro system. Alternatively, create your own slate with chalkboard paint.
