Skullcandy Vert: designed for gloves

The new earbuds from Skullcandy are made for gloves. And for your ears, of course. But above all for your gloves.
Whether you're snowboarding or mountain biking, gloves are a useful piece of equipment. Unless you want to listen to music or take a phone call. Then gloves are rubbish. The clunky pads make it difficult or impossible to operate the buttons on your overears, inears or earbuds. The solution to this problem comes from Skullcandy and is called Vert.

Depending on your sporting activity and the time of year, you can attach the remote control to the headband of your ski goggles, your hydration pack or another part of your equipment. The wireless Bluetooth rotary remote control has an easy-to-grip edge for controlling the volume and music, as well as a large control button for pausing and playing tracks, answering calls or activating the digital assistant.
The design of the earbuds ensures that you are aware of important ambient noises and at the same time offers good wearing comfort under the ear pads of your helmet.

First impression
Our video producer and outdoor enthusiast Manuel Wenk and his buddy Michele tried out the Skullcandy Vert on the piste and trail and summarised their first impressions:
- Cool concept
- Easy pairing via Bluetooth
- Operation with gloves works well. According to Manuel, he was too stupid for it at first until he found out that there is a "wheel" that needs to be turned to turn the volume up or down and back and forth.
- Inadequate battery life: the battery was empty after less than half a day's skiing.
- Sound quality top
- Wish from Manuel: When I'm skiing alone, I like to listen to music - on both earphones. But when I meet up with friends, I want to switch off one of the earphones and continue listening on the other. That way I can hear conversations etc., but can listen to music with one ear while skiing. This feature would be pretty cool and I haven't come across it on any headphones yet.
