Silentgaming takes victory in the second digitec Playground
In a gruelling final, Silentgaming prevailed against Lostik, mYinsanity and Xamax eSports.
After more than seven hours, the winner was decided. Silentgaming confidently won the second digitec Playground on Saturday. They showed why they are rightly feared in "Rainbow Six Siege". They went full throttle from the very first minute.
Silentgaming met mYinsanity in the semi-finals. The game was best of three. Except for the final, however, there were never three rounds. The five players from Silentgaming prevailed against mYinsanity with a clear 7:1 and 7:2, clearly demonstrating their intention to win.
In the second semi-final, Lostik played against Neuch eSports, or Xamax eSports as the team is now known. The game started relatively evenly and it was only after several close rounds that Lostik managed to secure the first point with a 7:5 win. After that, Xamax seemed to have run out of steam and Lostik marched into the final with a clear 7:2 in the second round.
So it was Silentgaming versus Lostik in the final. Initially, it looked as if Silentgaming would go straight to the winner's podium without much resistance. Lostik suffered their first crushing defeat of the day, losing 1:7. However, they came back from the break transformed and showed Silentgaming that nothing had been decided yet. After twelve nerve-wracking matches, the point finally went to Lostik 7:5. "We did everything wrong on the attack and DjWulf just picked us off the whole time," said Silentgaming captain Sirio "Botaniker" Schibano in an interview afterwards.
Lostik was unable to capitalise on the momentum, however, and Silentgaming launched a final counterattack. The final round of the tournament went to Silentgaming with a score of 7:2 and the winner was decided. Daemon, anix, Zenoxoo, FAVO and Botaniker are the five winners of the second digitec Playground.
