The search behaviour of digitec and Galaxus customers reveals what’s going under the Christmas tree this year: Favourites include Lego and Playmobil, the gaming console Nintendo Switch, Philips Hue LED lamps, electronics by Apple and Huawei as well as a magic wand by Dyson.

Christmas is approaching fast and so is the stress for everyone who hasn’t started their Christmas shopping yet. One way of picking perfect presents is taking a look at the search and shopping behaviour of other Xmas shoppers. A glance at digitec and Galaxus data shows what will be under Swiss Christmas trees this season.

Classics by Lego and Playmobil have proven particularly popular. The bestselling set at the moment is the Lego roller coaster with a hefty price tag of over 400 francs. In close second place is the Aston Martin construction kit. The new Harry Potter Lego sets are also in very strong demand. Apart from Lego and Playmobil, kids are eagerly awaiting marble runs, magnetic building blocks and everything to do with the puppy squad «Paw Patrol».

Many adolescents and adults are hoping for electronic products: The search behaviour of digitec customers reveals that Santa will be bringing sackloads of smartphones, smartwatches and Apple tablet computers this year. Mobile phones by Chinese manufacturer Huawei are also hot in demand. Countless youngsters and the young-at-heart are counting the days until Christmas because they’ve asked for the handheld Nintendo Switch console as a present. Many female customers are currently going crazy for the Dyson Airwrap hair styler. And many a home will be given a cosy glow courtesy of Philips Hue.
