The game is chosen. At the eighth digitec Playground, there will be racing and kicking again. For the first time, the final will be played live on the Main Stage of the HeroFest. The registration pages are now open.

For the second time, the digitec community has voted"Rocket League" the tournament game. "Forza Horizon 5" and "Dota 2" have to be content with second and third place. Perhaps there will be a place for these two games in one of our future Playground Sessions. But for now, it's all about digitec Playground Vol. 8. Individual athletes and teams can register for the tournament now.

One Cup, two tournaments

The digitec Playground consists of two tournaments. One for the professionals among you and the Grümpi for all those who join in for fun. The game is 3 vs. 3.

There are two qualifier rounds for both tournaments. In the Pro Tournament and the Grümpi, a total of two teams each can qualify for the finals. The qualifiers will be best-of-five and the final will probably be best-of-seven.

Schedule, registration and ranking

The final will take place on 16 October 2022 on the Main Stage of HeroFest. The two qualifiers are on 17 and 24 September 2022 and will be held online. You can participate from the comfort of your home.

Each player may only take part in one of the two tournaments. For the Grümpi, participants can register as teams or individually and will be randomly mixed into teams of 3. For the Pro Tournament, only complete teams may register.

    Conditions of participation

Two out of three team members must either be resident in Switzerland or Liechtenstein or have one of the two nationalities. The minimum age is twelve years. Younger players must have the written consent of a parent with signature.

The Elo Cap / highest ranking of the participants to be allowed to register for the Grümpi is Platinum 3. We take into account the current season as well as the peak ranking of the past 2 seasons.

    Prizes

Together with Logitech G, AOC and other partners we will present attractive prizes to the winners.

    Livestream and moderation

The two qualifiers of the pro tournament as well as both finals will be streamed and commented live on Twitch and Youtube.

    Good luck!

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
