Our editors’ all-time favourite Christmas movies

The festive season is upon us. And the editorial team is feeling very Christmassy. Four of us will be presenting their fav festive flick... each in their very own style.
When it's snowing outside and cosy indoors, that’s when the time is right to play those Christmas films. Need a recommendation? Natalie Hemengül, Simon Balissat, Philipp Rüegg and I did some soul searching to nominate our all-time favourite Christmas movie. Instead of boring trailers, we’ve come up with something much better: a quiz!

Sorry about the video format. They’ll also be played on the digitec Instagram account. Hence the portrait format.Natalie’s favourite Christmas movie
«I love contrasts – something the film delivers by the bucketload. There’s this sugar-coated, intricate world, on the one hand, and the rotten, gloomy dwelling of a green grouch on faraway Mount Crumpit. These contrasts make this movie a masterpiece that entertains the polar opposites that make up my personality.»
«Alone? Forgotten? From a child’s point of view, that’s a dream and a nightmare rolled into one. This film allowed me to live out this fantasy to the full. All those pranks and shenanigans and not an adult in sight to stop me. Amazing! But in the end, you realise that being surrounded by your (annoying) family is still the best thing ever. Not to mention John William’s score that gives me goosebumps every time without fail.»
«Why did I choose this film? Because it has a classic top-down approach. Take the title, for example. I could have loads of cheeky fun with it. Oh, and the leading lady is pretty, too.

«I enjoy Christmas movies that aren’t strictly Christmas movies. There’s hardly a film out there that puts me in a more festive mood than the one with the greedy monsters that just want to have a bit of fun.»

I'm an outdoorsy guy and enjoy sports that push me to the limit – now that’s what I call comfort zone! But I'm also about curling up in an armchair with books about ugly intrigue and sinister kingkillers. Being an avid cinema-goer, I’ve been known to rave about film scores for hours on end. I’ve always wanted to say: «I am Groot.»
