Now available: leather ski gloves from Snow Shepherd
If you want to optimally protect your hands during winter sports, you need gloves that not only keep you warm, but also repel water without restricting your freedom of movement. We have models from Snow Shepherd for exactly this purpose.
Cold, wet fingers spoil the best day's skiing. However, good ski gloves should still allow you to feel your poles and bindings despite all the warming layers. In our shop, we have several models from the Snow Shepherd brand that promise to do just that.
The mitten for particularly cold days
The «Gauntlet» is designed for tougher winter days. It combines waterproof leather on the palm with a two-millimetre-thick neoprene layer on the back of the hand. According to the manufacturer, the 200 grammes of Thinsulate filling should keep you warm even in extreme sub-zero temperatures.

The cuff, which can be individually adjusted using Velcro, is designed to repel powder snow.
A classic for freeriders
According to the manufacturer, the «Classic» was developed during off-piste courses in Chamonix. The model combines the look of a work glove with suitability for the piste. The two and a half to three millimetre thick cowhide leather does not have a membrane, which should ensure better breathability.
The areas on the palm and thumb are reinforced, as this is where the strain is highest when gripping the poles. The Hipora insert (similar to Gore-Tex) is designed to provide additional water protection. The glove is lined with acrylic wool.
The glove for milder days
On warmer days, this tight-fitting glove may be enough for you. You could wear it as an underglove under mittens or thicker gloves when skiing or in very cold weather. They are made from a blend of silk and elastane.
The natural properties of silk are said to ensure a comfortable wearing climate. Snow Shepherd cites compatibility with touchscreens as a further advantage. This means you don't have to take your gloves off to take a summit photo or operate your GPS sat nav.
According to the manufacturer, the leather gloves rely on a deep impregnation that is supposed to work without chemicals.
