Do you still clean your hard floors with a mop and bucket? Then the vacuum wipers from Kärcher might be something for you. Because they save you having to carry buckets and keep your hands dry.

The two vacuum wipers that we now have in our range utilise a function that Kärcher calls «3-in-1 Xtra Clean». The appliances vacuum up dust and dirt, mop the floor and dry it too. This is said to be twice as fast compared to other cleaning methods.

The models have a dry mode, which is intended for vacuuming carpets with a low pile height and for vacuuming up spilt liquids on hard floors.

Both appliances utilise the typical concept for electric floor wipers. Fresh and dirty water end up in two separate tanks. So you always mop with clean water. According to the manufacturer, the vacuum cleaners are suitable for different hard floors (parquet, laminate and tiles).

«FCV 2 Natural N»: the compact entry-level model

The «FCV 2 Natural N» weighs in at 3.6 kilograms without accessories and has a battery life of up to 25 minutes, according to the manufacturer. During this time, it is said to cover areas of up to 110 square metres.

The fresh water tank holds 800 millilitres, the dirty water tank 425 millilitres. The working width is 240 millimetres. Use the self-cleaning function after use. The wiper then rinses the roller and suction channels at up to 550 revolutions per minute.

With the «FCV 2 Natural N», you have the choice between two cleaning modes: The standard mode is intended for wet cleaning the floor. The aforementioned dry mode only vacuums.

An LED display informs you about the remaining running time, cleaning mode and tank fill level. Overflow protection and automatic switch-off are integrated if the dirty water tank is not emptied.

The «Natural» model comes with the «RM 538N» floor cleaner, which is said to be particularly suitable for households with allergy sufferers, children or pets.

«FCV 4» offers advanced functions

The «FCV 4» is the current top-of-the-range model and offers a battery life of up to 45 minutes for areas up to 200 square metres. The working width is slightly larger at 250 millimetres. The tank volumes correspond to the entry-level model (750 millilitres for fresh water and 450 millilitres for dirty water).

The automatic dirt detection is worth emphasising. It is designed to adapt the suction power and water volume to the degree of soiling. The appliance offers four different cleaning modes: an auto mode that uses the dirt sensor, a power mode for stubborn, dried-on dirt, dry mode and a staircase mode. The appliance can then also be used at a 90-degree angle.

Unlike the «FCV 2», this appliance has a 3.2-inch display. The self-cleaning function is identical to the simpler model. However, the floor roller is machine washable at 60 degrees.
