The latest generation of cordless window vacuums features new suction technology and a longer battery life.
Are you one of those people who get annoyed by streaks after cleaning the windows? Using a traditional rubber squeegee is tedious and takes a bit of practice to get a good result, even in sunlight. A window vacuum might just be the perfect solution for you. The Kärcher «WV 8» is one such device. It sucks the water directly from the pane into the waste water tank.
The «WV 8» is part of the latest generation of Kärcher window vacuum cleaners and has been improved in two key areas. The new «Xtraflex» silicone squeegee lip is designed to adapt more flexibly to different surfaces and improve cleaning right up to the edges. If you’ve already used another wet vacuum cleaner, you’re probably familiar with the problem. Water collects at the bottom edge of the pane, which isn’t fully picked up by a lip that’s too rigid.
The second improvement is the 360° Clean function. Most window vacuums only deliver good results when you move them vertically. The «WV 8» is designed to reliably suck up the water regardless of the position – whether at an angle, horizontally or overhead.
The working width is 280 millimetres. A 170-millimetre-wide suction nozzle is also included for narrow surfaces or lattice windows.
You can use the cleaner to remove water from all smooth surfaces, such as shower cubicles, mirrors or kitchen worktops.
To clean windows, pour the supplied cleaner into the special bottle with the wiping attachment. Use this to wet the surface. Instead of a traditional rubber squeegee, you then use the Kärcher.
The «WV 8» is available in the Signature Edition. This offers you the advantage of being able to extend the warranty to three years if you register your cleaner within four weeks of purchase.
According to Kärcher, the built-in, replaceable lithium-ion battery provides around 55 minutes of runtime. This should be sufficient for up to 165 square metres per charge. Charging is via a USB-C port. An LED indicates the charge level.
The dirty water tank has a capacity of 150 millilitres. From my own experience with the previous model, I can tell you that you can empty the tank without coming into contact with the dirty water. Simply pull it off, empty it and rinse it out.
The package also includes a charger with a mains adaptor and charging cable, a spray bottle with a microfibre cleaning cover and 20 millilitres of the window cleaner «RM 503», a narrow suction nozzle, a microfibre cleaning pad «Outdoor» and a dirt scraper.
