Now available: Bose QuietComfort (2nd Gen.)
Bose is reissuing its QuietComfort headphones. The second generation adds spatial sound and a cinema mode to active noise cancellation.
Whether on the train, in the office, or on a long flight: The QuietComfort Headphones reduce disruptive ambient noise and are designed to sit comfortably even during longer listening sessions, thanks to the revised headband. Several listening modes are new additions. The headphones are now available from us in black, white, green, and violet.
Multiple Listening Modes for Music and Videos
The earcups completely enclose your ears, thereby already dampening some of the ambient sound. Additionally, microphones detect disruptive noises and weaken them with a counter-signal.
In Quiet mode, active noise cancellation works particularly strongly. Aware mode allows more sounds from your surroundings to pass through. The updated ActiveSense technology is designed to automatically attenuate sudden noise peaks. There is also a mode without active noise cancellation.
New features include 360-degree sound and a cinema mode. Bose calls the spatial reproduction TrueSpatial. It is designed to create a wider soundstage. Cinema mode combines spatial sound with a stronger emphasis on voices.
Physical buttons control playback, volume, calls, and listening modes. Bose has revised their arrangement compared to the predecessor. Further settings can be made in the Bose app. A total of six microphones inside and outside the earcups also support phone calls. According to Bose, they are designed to reduce background noise during conversations.
Up to 24 Hours of Battery Life
The battery is said to last up to 24 hours on a single charge. With 360-degree sound activated, it's only up to 18 hours. A full charge via USB-C takes about three hours, according to Bose.
The wireless connection runs via Bluetooth 5.4. Bose specifies a range of about nine meters. Alternatively, you can use the headphones with a cable. An audio cable one meter long with a 3.5-millimeter jack and USB-C connector is included. A USB-C to USB-C cable for charging is also part of the scope of delivery.
230 Grams and a Revised Design
The second-generation QuietComfort Headphones weigh 230 grams. Bose has made the earcups more oval and widened the adjustable headband. Faux leather covers both the headband and the removable ear cushions. You can transport the headphones in the included hard-shell case.
