With its new shaver models, Philips promises solutions for every grooming need: from specialised body groomers to beard trimmers.

Now in stock, you'll find the new generation of groomers from Philips. I present a selection of the current models

BG7475/15 Body Groomer Series 7000 - specialist for body care

The BG7475/15 was developed for body grooming and employs two shaving heads. The diamond-shaped openings of the shaving head are designed to protect the skin in sensitive areas. The blades of the trimmer head are rounded to prevent irritation and cuts.

Thanks to the 2-D technology, the groomer is designed to adapt better to body contours. The device offers various comb attachments with length settings from one to three millimetres in increments of 0.5 millimetres.

A special feature is an LED on the shaving heads. This «OptiLight» is designed to help you groom areas of the body that are, shall we say, difficult to see. The groomer is waterproof and can therefore be used in the shower. Philips claims a maximum runtime of 120 minutes. Charging is via USB cable, but a mains adapter is not included.
The body groomer is at the top of my pile of devices to be tested. A field report from me will follow.

Multigroom Series 9000: a premium all-rounder

With more than twenty attachments, the MG9558/15 can be your universal weapon in the fight against body hair. At the heart of the device is the «Beard-Sense technology», which is designed to scan beard density 125 times per second and automatically adjust the power to denser areas.

The set also includes a OneBlade, which you can use to target hair in the armpits or lower body regions. Both devices are also showerproof. For precise contours, there is a comb attachment with 0.2 millimetre increments for lengths of one to three millimetres. The trimmer's self-sharpening blades are designed to remain sharp for a long time and make oiling unnecessary. Another attachment removes nose and ear hair.

Philips also claims a battery life of almost two hours for this model. Like the body groomer, there is a quick charge.

Multigroomer Series 7000: the versatile one

In many respects, this appliance is similar to the Series 9000 model, with the same running time, quick charge and beard sense. The blades on this trimmer are also self-sharpening and make regular maintenance (apart from cleaning, of course) superfluous.

Also included is the precision attachment with eleven steps. In the groomer's product description, Philips also emphasises the attachment for removing nose and ear hair. The number of attachments and combs is slightly lower. According to Philips, the groomer is a 17-in-1 trimmer.

In addition, the hair clipper for the head is wider at 41 millimetres. You should be able to admire the desired result in the mirror up to 30 per cent faster.

Beard Trimmer 7000 - the beard pro

The BT7665/15 is fully focussed on beard care. The self-sharpening blade system employs Beard Sense technology.

The 40 length settings are adjustable.

The 40 length settings in increments of 0.2 millimetres help you with your look. The blades are designed to straighten hair before cutting to deliver an even result from the very first stroke. «Lift & Trim» is what Philips calls this.

The appliance is waterproof, which should make maintenance easier. Speaking of grooming: Do you know the arguments in your partnership about stubble flying around the bathroom? We want to put an end to that. At least partially. The shaver has an integrated drip tray, which, according to the manufacturer, should collect up to 80 per cent of the stubble.

With special «Fading» combs, transitions should be easier for you. The attachable precision trimmer is also designed for contours and exact transitions.
