Thousands of babies are born every month and all of them want to be given plenty of presents. For this reason, many creative gift ideas are made from nappies. I'll show you my latest project: a lorry!
Cakes, owls, bicycles, butterflies, snails, castles, prams - the choice of creative subjects made from nappies is huge. But I was looking for something that not everyone has made or received before. It's for a girl, but the little girl's dad is a lorry driver. So why not? The "make a lorry out of nappies" project is born and can begin.
What do you need for this?
200 nappies
2 rubber ducks
1 rattle/gripper with a face or a small soft toy
1 T-shirt approx. size 74
2 nappies or muslin cloths
Rubber bands
Gift ribbons
And this is how it works
Driver's cab in 8 steps
Open a nappy pack
Take 16 nappies, roll them up and secure them with a rubber band (image 1). These will be the wheels for the lorry. Four for the driver's cab and twelve for the trailer.
Pile up the remaining nappies into two piles, one slightly higher than the other (image 2).
Fasten the nappies with a rubber band or gift ribbon (image 2).

Lay out the two piles of nappies as shown in image 2 and fold the T-shirt over them from right to left. The head opening should be under the larger pile (image 3). Then fold the T-shirt on the lower side from bottom to top and pinch it between the two piles. Fold the upper part of the T-shirt from top to bottom. So that the rattle or the soft toy as the driver's head fits in between (image 4).
Fasten the T-shirt with a ribbon around the larger pile of nappies and make a loop (pink ribbon in pictures 3 and 4).

Now knot two parallel ribbons from the back to the front (grey ribbon on images 3 and 4). You can also tie the headlights (bath ducks) to the front (image 5).
Turn everything over and place the four rolled nappies from point 2 under the grey tape. The driver's cab is finished.

Followers in 4 steps
Place two nappy packs parallel to each other and place a gauze cloth over them (picture 7).
Fasten the cloth with a ribbon lengthwise around each nappy pack (pink and white ribbon in pictures 7 and 8) and crosswise around both packs (pink ribbon with loop in picture 8).

Turn everything over and place the six rolled nappies from point 2 under the ribbons (image 9).
Create a second trailer in the same way. The lorry with double trailer is finished (image 10).

And this is what my finished project "Making a truck out of nappies" looks like (image 11). Well, according to internal enquiries, it could also be a train because of the many wheels. In other words, I would have to invest a little more time to make my lorry a little more detailed. I am now hoping for your imagination. And otherwise just make one more trailer and sell it as a train or leave out a few wheels ;-)
So have fun copying and pimping your lorry or train.
