What the Supershape i.Magnum has to do with the Nobel Prize in Physics
by Michael Restin

The old ski boots have had their day and I need some new ones. That's why I'm testing the "Formula 120 MV GW Performance Boot" from Head. And I'm sticking with it.
Since I bought a ski including bindings from Head at Black Friday 2021 at a fabulously low price, I've been out on the slopes with the previous model of this product:
However, I'm not just a bargain hunter, I also have certain, let's call them puritanical traits. For example, it has long bothered me to ski up and down the mountain in Atomic brand ski boots on the Head slats. For my taste, it somehow never came together.
However, this problem has now solved itself, as the old ski boots have definitely had their day. They need a new pair and what could be more obvious than buying a product from Head online?
This piste boot is packed with technology:
Thanks to the curved rubber sole, the boot enables natural rolling when walking and therefore a comfortable gait. But let's be honest: walking in ski boots is and remains a pain in the arse. When I go to the toilet in the mountain restaurant, I feel like Frankenstein even in these boots.
This is a system that offers a comfortable and performance-orientated adjustment of Head ski boots. You can see the details in the following manufacturer video:
This technology is designed to enable the shoe to be adjusted as precisely, quickly and individually as possible. To do this, a liquid is applied to key areas of the ski boot around the ankle and heel area. This only takes a few minutes but, like the Perfect Fit, must be carried out by an authorised specialist retailer.
There's nothing worse than freezing while skiing. Cold hands and, even worse, cold feet are poison. PrimaLoft is a very light, breathable material that is used in various sports products and provides effective thermal insulation. Cold feet have never been a topic for me in the Formula 120 MV GW Performance Boot.
Let's be honest: buying a new ski boot online is actually a no-go. There are so many details to consider until the boot fits really well that there's almost no way around getting advice from a specialist retailer. Unless you invest time and nerves and do your research.
However, I wasn't 100 per cent comfortable in the "Formula 120 MV GW Performance Boot" from Head at the beginning. It was only after I had the Liquid Fit customisation done at the specialist retailer and also used a heel wedge that everything fell into place.
