Is this the Clarisonic for the stingy?

I want baby-soft skin and I want it now. But my budget is limited. Will the Beurer electric face brush bring me closer to my dream? Let's find out ...
Call me crazy, but my skin hasn't been what it used to be since I moved to a new city a year and a half ago. It used to be soft and smooth. But didn't everything used to be better anyway? My skin now feels uneven and rough, especially on the deeper parts of my cheeks. I blame it on the chalky water. In my distress, I declared a state of emergency shortly after the move and desperately searched for a solution. I stumbled across the "Visa Sonic" face brush from Trisa. Once I incorporated it into my daily evening routine, I could see a massive difference after just one week. My skin was smoother and the uneven surface was gone. However, the brush was too hard for me over time. So after several months of use, I decided against a new brush attachment out of laziness, even though Trisa also offers one for sensitive skin. Since then, I haven't touched another electric face brush and my skin has returned to its original shape. So it's high time to give another face brush a chance.

An arbitrary decision
My spontaneous choice was the "FC 65 Pureo" from Beurer for two reasons: It looks similar to the Clarisonic brushes I was flirting with, which is why it caught my eye in our shop, and it costs about a quarter of the price.

Scope of delivery
Once unpacked, you will find the following parts:
- Protective cap
- Brush attachment
- Mains adapter
- Handheld device
- Charging station
- Instructions for use
In yo Face
The device is suitable for all skin types, can be used in the bath and in the shower and, according to the instructions for use, must spend six hours on the charging station before first use. So I put it in the charging station and plug in the mains adapter. During the charging process, the bluish-purple coloured LED light on the brush head flashes. Once it is charged, it lights up permanently.
I have to mention at this point that I primarily use the brush to remove make-up from my skin, as cotton pads leave too much dirt and make-up residue behind. I therefore only remove my eye make-up before using the brush for the first time. I wet the brush with lukewarm water, just like my face. I then apply a little of my cleanser to the brush. In terms of quantity, I orientate myself on the size of an almond. Incidentally, it also works with a thicker cleansing balm.

To switch on the device, press and hold the on/off button for one second. The brush will then start vibrating. You also press the same button to switch between the three speed levels. The function button is located directly below. You can use it to choose between a vibrating and a pulsating brush movement. The former appeals to me a little more and, according to the manufacturer, should be gentler on the skin, while the latter is more thorough. Time to press the button with the light symbol on the back of the brush head. This activates the blue light that emanates from the brush head and, according to Beurer, is supposed to combat spots and skin impurities. The light also flashes in pulsating mode.

I feel most comfortable with the highest speed setting as I'm not sensitive and the bristles are soft. I also find the vibrating mode more pleasant, as the flashing light and rhythmic noises irritate me somewhat in pulsating mode. I can't judge whether the blue light has any effect, but I always switch it on anyway. The button is difficult to press and requires more pressure. At first I make circular movements, but quickly realise that this is not necessary and that it is best to move the brush slowly over my face. I notice that the appliance makes strange noises as soon as I move it in one direction. As if it's complaining that it's going in the wrong direction. But that doesn't bother me. The FC 65 Pureo also stops vibrating or pulsating every 20 seconds to let me know that it's time to move on to another part of my face. The whole process is repeated three times. After the recommended application time of one minute (3x20 seconds), the device switches itself off. Caution: The whole thing is splashy, which is why my bathroom mirror is damaged with every application.

After the make-up removal fun, I take the brush attachment off the appliance so that I can clean it better under running water. That works well. However, as I remove my make-up with the brush, I don't get all the dirt off it, which was to be expected. After drying, I want to put on the protective cap, but realise that it's more suited to the bin than the brush. I can't manage to attach the part in such a way that no bristles stick out or get trapped on the sides. So away with the part! Incidentally, according to the manual, the brush itself should be replaced every four months.
Conclusion: A baby's bum? No my face, but thanks!
After just under two weeks of daily use, I can announce that I have found my face brush. At least for now. My skin has almost returned to its old, smooth form, the application is simple and intuitive and the price point is reasonable. No unnecessary bells and whistles, except perhaps the light. But judging that is beyond my expertise. I also like the brush itself - not too soft and not too hard. All in all, a model for beginners. However, if you value being able to switch between different brush attachments, then the Beurer FC 65 Pureo is not for you. It only has this one attachment. If, like me, you want to use it for removing make-up, I would advise you to change it more frequently than the recommended "every four months". Simply because more dirt sticks to it than with a normal facial cleanser.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
