How to style overknees for everyday wear

Overknee boots are better than their reputation, as they can quickly look disreputable depending on the styling. I'll tell you what tricks you can use to wear your boots in everyday life.

No item of clothing exudes such questionable sex appeal as overknees. Ever since I first saw them on Julia Roberts' legs in the film "Pretty Woman", I automatically thought of streetwalking whenever I saw someone wearing them. And it wasn't just me. While I've since realised that it's all about the right styling when it comes to over-the-knee boots, many of my friends still can't relate to them. [[image:17892900]]
I now own two pairs of overknees. Why? Because the all-rounder visually lengthens the legs and is versatile: whether with trousers, dresses or skirts - what's important is the finish so that the whole thing doesn't look like a "pretty woman" - cough. If you're not in the mood for immoral offers, then you should keep these three things in mind
.

Block heel

Overknees in combination with a stiletto heel can be a bit indecent. You need to be careful here. If you opt for a stiletto model, you should keep the rest of your outfit casual. Skinny jeans and an oversized jumper, a long cardigan or a loose shirt will do the trick. If, on the other hand, you don't want to do without feminine tops or dresses, then I recommend a mid-height block heel. Not only does this give you greater styling freedom, it's also comfortable and makes you look much more dressed up.

Choice of colour

I recommend a neutral colour such as black, grey, brown or beige for your boots. I personally like suede models, but unfortunately they are not weatherproof. However, if you want to wear your shoes in all weathers, go for smooth leather boots and waterproof them before wearing them for the first time. Please do yourself and me a favour and steer clear of patent leather and the colour red, unless you want to wear them over your knee. My trick for longer legs: match your trousers to the colour of your boots, this will make them look longer. The same goes for choosing the right colour tights. I know that black is the most boring solution, but you can go all out with the colour of your top. You should rather do without a sexy décolleté.

Skirt length

Of course, when wearing black opaque tights, I also become more daring when it comes to skirt length and length because the leg remains covered. Nevertheless, you should go for "less is more" with overknees. For this reason, when it comes to skirt length, I appeal for a more modest appearance - sorry, dear men! This means that the hem of the skirt should always extend over the top of the boots so that the entire leg (even if you're wearing tights) remains covered.
