"Hoop": A minimalist magazine rack with panache
Any design that impresses with its appearance as well as its properties is very popular with me. This time it's "Hoop", a magazine and record stand.
Circles exert an indescribable attraction on me. There is something timeless about them and for me they embody a harmonious form that I can't get enough of. It goes without saying that the Hoop magazine collector from Umbra hits the mark for me. It is made up of individual steel wires that have been welded together and offers two different ways of storing things. If you set it up so that the magazines are at an angle, you can grab it by the ring and carry it from A to B.

The design comes from the Canadian brand Umbra, which was founded by Paul Rowan and Les Mandelbaum in Toronto in 1979. Hoop is part of the new "Umbra Shift" line, which focuses on modern accessories and is aimed at people like you and me who like to own purist and functional objects.
