Garmin Varia – the world’s first cycling radar
Safer cycling thanks to Varia bike lights – Smarter than the typical bike light!
Getting hit from behind is a leading cause of cycling accidents. For this reason, Garmin has developed the world’s first radar system for bikes that warns of vehicles approaching from behind up to 140 meters. The box contains four Varia radar tail lights as well as the matching radar head unit. The head unit can detect multiple vehicles and indicates the relative speed of approach and threat level, increasing the required reaction time and ensuring a safe participation in traffic. As speed increases, the headlight focuses further down the road to project light to where it’s needed most and brings it closer as you slow. The Varia bike radar is true breakthrough when it comes to safe cycling!
The radar tail light is also sold separately. It can be wirelessly connected to the compatible GPS devices Garmin Edge 1000 an Garmin Edge 520.
