How does sports photography actually work?
by Patrick Bardelli
You're tired of pixel-perfect models. Same here. Bored of the same three sports superstars in the same pose? Tell us about it. Welcome to @galaxus_sport
Everything looks the same on social media. Whether biking, surfing, rowing, running, skateboarding, skating, bouldering, football, gymnastics, yoga, boxing, weight lifting, volleyball, ice hockey, freeskiing, tennis or crossfit. Dozens of perfectly photoshopped Adonises and Amazons posing for their eager fans. All staged, all fake.
Our motto: farewell fake world, hello social media basics. We show how sport really is. We? No, you do that. Or your club. The new Instagram account @galaxus_sport is curated entirely by our communities. We do nothing and leave the field, the wardrobe and the arena to those who know what they're talking about.
Nearly 70,000 gymnasts, 108 disciplines – the 76th Federal Turnfest in Aarau is one of the largest sporting events in Switzerland. And the women's gymnastics club Kriegstetten is right in the middle of it. Starting on Wednesday, 20 women are taking over @galaxus_sport and telling stories around ETF 2019. Oropax for the dormitory, anti-hangover powder for the morning after the event ends. Yes, I know, people only drink Rivella at ETF. Yeah, right.
After bars, the high bar and wrestling, it's time for SUPs, kettlebells and mountain bikes. According to the gymnasts, they're water athletes, cross-fitters and bikers.
Whether you're an acrobat or enjoy Zumba: we'll show you the whole range of the sport. Are you or your sports club interested in being part of the new Instagram Channel? Do you stay well away from sports but have friends and acquaintances who would fit this mould? Then leave us a comment. Maybe you'll soon take over @galaxus_sport.

From radio journalist to product tester and storyteller, jogger to gravel bike novice and fitness enthusiast with barbells and dumbbells. I'm excited to see where the journey'll take me next.
