Coming to stay: dad shoes
by Vanessa Kim
I scroll through our fashion range every day. To give you a small but nice overview, I'll introduce you to a product that I like every week. Today: trainers.
On days like these, I don't care about the cool temperatures and dare to put my pale feet in trainers and leave my winter boots in the shoe cupboard. Oh, it's a wonderful feeling to feel the first rays of sunshine of the year on my ankles. It also makes up for the quizzical "aren't you cold" looks from my colleagues, who just shake their heads at the sight of my bare ankles. One of my current favourites is the "Old Skool" skate shoe from Vans. Sure, the model isn't new. It's the design that makes the difference.
The forest green suede finish of my low-top lace-up shoe stands out from the crowd in contrast to the usual classic colour. I've seen the black version too often, but I wouldn't want to be without my Vans. The green model provides variety in my wardrobe, which mainly consists of black shoes, and goes equally well with denim and black or white fabric trousers. As soon as the temperatures allow, I combine the kicks with high-waist jeans shorts and a plain T-shirt or a summer dress.
Because the trainers with the legendary white stripe were originally designed for skaters in 1977, it's no surprise that they are robust and provide a firm grip and flexibility thanks to a padded cuff. The suede upper and reinforced toe cap also make the shoe comfortable. One of my main criteria when choosing my shoes. This once again disproves the theory that everything that is practical has to be ugly. [[product:8229593]]
