From 13 to 15 October, countless gaming, cosplay and fantasy fans will once again flock to the halls of Bernexpo. That's when the Herofest takes place for the sixth time.

"Age of Empires" duels at top level on the main stage
The final of the Digitec Playground Cup Vol. 11 will take place on the Mainstage of Herofest. Both the Grümpi and Pro finals will be played live in front of an audience. It starts on 13 October at 14:30 with the Grümpi duel. This will be followed by the pro final. If you can't be there, you can also watch the matches live on Twitch and Youtube. The whole thing will be hosted by the Swiss "Age of Empires" pros Ellie4k and Dave.
The following have qualified for the Pro Tournament:

The pros will compete for the following prizes:

Dive into virtual worlds with the Meta Quest 3
At the Digitec stand, you will have the opportunity to play the new Meta Quest 3. The new VR headset from Meta not only promises a much more immersive VR experience, but also a completely new mixed reality function. This allows you to see virtual objects in your real environment and interact with them. Also new are the controllers, which now do not require an infrared bracket and should fit better in the hand.
A Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip lies dormant inside the headset. Compared to the predecessor model, this should provide more power and a significant leap in the graphical quality of the games. The additional power is also desperately needed, as the screens in the headset have a very high resolution of 2160 x 2160 pixels per eye. By comparison, the PS VR2 has 2000 by 2040 pixels.

Retro feeling with arcade machines
VR, "Mario Kart" and "EA Sports FC 24" are all well and good, but sometimes you just fancy some retro gaming. That's why we've set up two arcade machines at our stand for you to take a nostalgic trip
Firstly, with "Pac-Man" we were able to engage a real gaming icon for our stand. Numerous classics featuring the yellow omnivore are waiting to be played on the "Pac Man" machine. Other arcade games such as "Dig Dug" and "Galaga" will also be there.
In mid-September, "Mortal Kombat I" was released, the second reboot of the brutal fighting game series. We are reversing this reboot and travelling back in time with a "Mortal Kombat" machine. In addition to the first three "Mortal Kombat" games, you can also play arcade gems such as "Rampage" and "Joust" on this machine.
