So ugly they're beautiful: ugly dad trainers
by Vanessa Kim
That fashionistas dare to wear ugly things is nothing new. What is new is the persistence with which this trend persists: the chunky trainer.
Trends come and go. That doesn't seem to be the case with ugly dad trainers. Luckily for me, this trend is almost as stubborn as pests. Because unlike the Stan Smith Kicks by Adidas minimalists, whose status as "ugliest shoes" is long past, don't go unnoticed. They add a touch of interest to simple outfits like a white T-shirt combined with jeans. One model that has the aforementioned quality is the "Nova Bloc 90'" from Puma. [[product:9635268]]
The model is an excellent example of a model with a running look that our dads wore in the 90s. The raw shape combined with a futuristic sole and colourful mesh and suede inserts are typical of the chunky trainer celebrated by fashion lovers.
With my preference for the green-blue model, I feel like I'm swimming against the tide. When I search for the hashtag 'pumanova' on Instagram I mainly find images of the pink model a little too girly for my taste. In my opinion, the aquamarine version is fresher and goes just as well with blue jeans as with white linen dresses, all of which I have in my wardrobe. On the other hand, if you prefer black outfits, I'd recommend the pink model. Too colourful for your taste? The shoe also comes in Black. [[image:21111442,21111439]] [[small:]]
