Cleaning and design have never been closer
Cleaning is annoying, but it can be made more enjoyable. To do this I need two things: my favourite music and aesthetic tools.
My demands on design stop at nothing. Everything in my flat must be stylishly designed and match perfectly. For this reason, I often buy things that do not always offer the most functional solution. Although robot vacuums are more efficient than brooms and dustpans, they will only enter my home when more attention is paid to form than function. Until then, I prefer aesthetic analogue cleaning tools, which convince mainly by their appearance. Although they keep me busier.

The recent redesigns of brooms and dusters don't cut down on household chores, but they are a real treat for the eyes. Especially if they are partly made of wood. The material has a warm and decorative effect due to its grain. An example? 'Sweep': a broom and dustpan set from Eva Solo. The round shape and wooden handle make it a real gem. The dirty broom disappears into the dustpan, also saving space. So it looks like a decorative hanging object thanks to elegant leather straps.

Yellow tea towels are a nightmare of the past. This is what brands like Broste Copenhagen ensure with their 'Shane' design. In a Scandinavian style, these three crocheted cotton tea towels in soft colours are pleasantly soft to the touch and fit perfectly into any décor.

Both for spring cleaning and daily cleaning, my motto is: not everything has to look sparkling clean afterwards, but also during cleaning. Things like laundry or dishes should not be a pain in the ass when they are left to dry. The brand Oyoy is a pioneer in the field of beautiful solutions for tidying up. His golden dish rack looks almost like a sculpture. Unlike many others, it is curved. This makes it elegant, even with the dishes set up to dry.
Like a cheerleader, I love celebrating good design and bringing you closer to everything furniture- and interior design- related. I regularly curate simple yet sophisticated interior ideas, report on trends and interview creative minds about their work.
