I've been living in Zurich for a year now. After a long search, I found a flat where I can give free rein to my design aspirations. And this is what my interior looks like:

Anyone looking for a flat in Zurich knows that it takes time and nerves. Just when the dream flat is found, it feels like a thousand applications from competitors flutter in, or it is simply unaffordable. I raved about a renovated old loft with four-metre-high walls, old herringbone parquet flooring and a new, open-plan kitchen. Of course, the bathroom with natural light and a marvellous terrace were not to be missed. The neighbourhood needed to be quiet, but still have nightlife options. Public transport and shopping facilities should be just around the corner if possible - all affordable, of course. :)

I quickly realised that you have to make compromises in Zurich in order to stay within your budget. So my current flat isn't perfect, but it's furnished with all the more attention to detail: A renovated flat on the top floor, lots of light, an open-plan layout and two large terraces.

In terms of style, there are countless ways to furnish your own home: Scandinavian, maritime, retro, mid-century or the stylish 70s are some of my favourites. So there is a great mix of styles in my rooms. You'll find heirlooms from my father's student days as well as acquisitions from the Brocki or Möbel Zürich (my favourite vintage store in Zurich city centre).

I add the finishing touches to my home with accessories and decor from Ferm Living, Normann Copenhagen, Umbra or House Doctor, all of which we stock at Galaxus. When we discovered the House Doctor brand at a trade fair in Paris two years ago while setting up the Home & Living division, I knew immediately which direction we would take with part of the range. But the most beautiful memory is in my dining room: a table from Astal that fascinated me so much that the product manager gave it my name: Alexandra.

As another project, I refurnished my patio with the support of David Widmer, product manager for garden furniture.

Am I finished yet? My team and I are always on the lookout for old classics as well as the latest trends. Our new partner Bloomingville has so many great products. Oh yes, we're also planning a new sofa. So there's still a lot to do...

Beautiful things are my passion. With over 200 shoes and bags, my closet is quite overcrowded and therefore I put me only the most important key pieces. Due to always new brands and assortments in the store, the long rummaging is pre-programmed. But I'm not only online on the road: On the weekend you can meet me at the Flohmi or in second hand stores. Because I love to mix old with new. My closet is peppered with cheap basics and expensive classics. My oldest investment is my vintage Chanel bag, which I bought with my first salary at 23.
