Standard Italian, average Italian, regional Italian, Ticinese... Here we speak a bit of everything, but in a correct manner! Or at least that is the intention.
Although Italian is one of the official and national languages, unfortunately, it is not a popular language in Switzerland. Our sweet and wonderful language is often overlooked, neglected, discriminated against, or mistreated. And the Italian-speaking minority in Switzerland has to repeatedly adapt to reading sentences and texts in German or French, or has to put up with deplorable and clumsy translations, which at best make us laugh out loud.
But we at digitec and Galaxus are against the current, we are pirates! Hadn't you noticed? For a while now, we've been speaking Italian too! And not the improvised Italian of the Zuricher with a house in Ticino. Or the slightly dialectal one, learned from good, wise Italian grandparents. Or the one scrambled by bad habits and jargon. As well as wanting to be grammatically correct, we try to be as authentic and brilliant as possible when editing. We avoid literal translations, trying instead to generate associations and emotions with the words that tickle the Italian spirit.
And then let yourself be swayed by the words.
So let yourself be velvety, reading digitec and Galaxus in Italian. And strike a blow from time to time.
