Look how cute! The new generation of beauty charms is here
by Natalie Hemengül
I'm currently trying out a no-buy month to save money. This means no purchases beyond the bare essentials. However, these exciting new products are really shaking my resolve.
I've always had a soft spot for Essence's special limited edition collections (the brand calls them Trend Editions). They're usually pretty darn cute and affordable thanks to the drugstore prices. In June, the brand launches the Hawaii-inspired summer line «Aloha, Babes!» - also on Galaxus.
The collection includes:
I had my eye on the «Pout Lip Balm» in the yellow screw-top jar. Simply twist the bottom end and the lip balm pops out of the flower-shaped opening. This is not only a cute idea, but also ensures that no bacteria or air gets into the product.
With this launch from Dior, the trendy beauty charms have now officially arrived in the luxury segment. And I admit: the silver pendant that adorns the tube is ninety per cent of the reason why the Lip Glow Butter ended up on my wish list in the first place. I owe the remaining ten to my positive experiences with the Dior Addict Lip Glow care pencil, which has been on the market for a while and which I have loved using for the past few years.
According to Dior, the new lip care for a steep 52 francs is a mixture of balm and lip gloss that contains peptides and ceramides and is available in five colours - but unfortunately not yet in our country. My choice? «Glazed Pink», a soft pink with silver shimmer particles.
Nine words and I'm melting.
«Playful. Juicy. Chic.»
«Icy. Creamy. Fun.»
«Rich. Flirty. Decadent.»
The modern fragrance label Ellis Brooklyn knows how to make its three new hair and body sprays appealing to people: Lychee Milkshake, Mango Milkshake and - my personal highlight - Banana Milkshake. I'm drooling just at the thought of getting my hands on the latter.
The tempting-sounding creation contains honeydew melon, banana milk, papaya, pineapple strawberry and vanilla ice cream, among other flavours. Unfortunately, if you live in Switzerland, you won't be able to try «before you buy». The products are currently not available in Switzerland unless you order them from abroad. Nevertheless, I have added the Milkshake line to my wish list. Cost: 35 dollars a piece.
As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
