Ortovox is a German sporting goods manufacturer specialising in mountain sports, which is represented in our online shop with a wide range of high-quality clothing and sports accessories. The brand was founded in 1980 by Gerard Kampel, who developed an innovative avalanche transceiver (LVS), the Ortovox F2, in collaboration with Jürgen Wegner. Following the success of this first product, the Ortovox range grew steadily and in 1990 the company was renamed Ortovox Sportartikel GmbH. In the clothing sector, the brand is particularly known for material combinations suitable for sports, such as wool. In 2015, it joined the Fair Wear Foundation, because sustainability is more than just a marketing slogan at Ortovox.
