Information on the silver Black Flag - The Red Flag Fleet - 1 oz - 2021
Minted by the Australian Perth Mint, the third coin in the popular Black Flag series is dedicated to Ching Shih and the Red Flag Fleet.
Ching Shih, also known as Zheng Yisao, was a famous 19th-century pirate who commanded a large pirate alliance, the Red Flag Fleet, in the South China Sea. In addition to numerous successful plundering campaigns, Ching Shih is known for a strict code of conduct for pirates, which aimed to regulate the treatment of the civilian population. Among other things, theft, disobedience, and rape were punishable by death.
The mintage of this silver coin is limited to only 15,000 pieces worldwide.
Design of the silver coin
The design side of this coin features a depiction of Ching Shih alongside the Red Flag Fleet. The design includes a skull formed from the rough waves of the ocean. It also includes the words "The Red Flag Fleet," "Black Flag: Ching Shih," the weight, fineness, and the Perth Mint's traditional mintmark "P."
The reverse side showcases the portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, along with the face value, weight, fineness of the coin, and the year of minting "2021.".
