Product details
The Wedge-Tailed Eagle, known in German as Keilschwanzadler, is a large bird of prey found almost everywhere in Australia. Individual specimens have even been spotted in the southern part of New Guinea. The wingspan of the Wedge-Tailed Eagle can reach up to 2.7 meters. This eagle is characterized by its wedge-shaped tail and small head with a large, powerful beak. Its diet primarily consists of medium-sized mammals.
The Australian Perth Mint has now dedicated the silver coin Wedge Tailed Eagle 2021 - 1 oz RP High Relief to this bird of prey, with a limited mintage of 5,000 pieces. The Reverse Proof (RP) minting process is one of the most elaborate methods of producing a coin and is particularly sought after by collectors. The coin's design side, featuring the quality of PP (Proof), depicts a descending Wedge-Tailed Eagle with a snake in its talons. Additionally, the design side includes the coin's name "Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle," the year of issue "2021," the fine weight "9999," the weight "1 oz," the precious metal "Silver," and the mint mark of the Perth Mint "P."
On the reverse side, there is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Above it, the inscriptions "Elizabeth II" and "Australia" are engraved. Below, the denomination of "1 Dollar" adorns the coin. The coin is packaged in its original coin case and comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
