Product details
The highly anticipated latest edition of the Lunar III series from the Perth Mint continues with the stunning motif of the Chinese dragon. The dragon is the fifth sign of the twelve-year lunar calendar. This reflects the traditional story in which the Jade Emperor had the twelve zodiac animals race across a river to determine the order in which they would be entered into the calendar. Those born in the year of the Chinese dragon in 2024, 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, and every twelfth preceding year are considered ambitious, successful, and charismatic. This special investment coin from the Perth Mint is limited to a worldwide mintage of only 20,000 pieces. The coin is delivered in an original coin capsule. The dominant center of the design side features a fearsome dragon in various colors. The dragon's distinctive design is characterized by its serpentine body shape, scales, and curved horns. Additionally, waves and a flaming pearl (a symbol of wisdom) are depicted. Below the motif, the Chinese character for dragon "龍," the inscription "DRAGON 2024," and the mintmark "P125" of the Perth Mint (which symbolizes the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint) can be seen. The reverse side of the coin displays the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Above, the inscription "ELIZABETH II 1952 - 2022" and "AUSTRALIA" is minted. Below, the face value of "30 DOLLARS," the weight "1 KILO," and the fineness "9999 Ag" adorn the coin.
