Product details
This special coin from Swissmint is part of a three-piece series on the theme "Energy of the Future" and is the second release in the series. Solar energy, along with wind and water, is one of the renewable energy sources; however, solar and wind energy only account for a small portion of Switzerland's electricity supply. In honor of this important energy source, Swissmint released this special coin in 2022. Solar energy, which is a practically inexhaustible energy source, should help Switzerland move away from oil and nuclear power. The goal of the "Energy of the Future" series is to draw attention to current issues related to climate change. The design side features the sun with orange rays, and various types of solar reflectors are also depicted. The design is inscribed with "SONNENENERGIE SOLEIL SOL," which translates to "Sun." Notably, this coin has a fluorescent effect that reveals itself only in the dark. The reverse side of the coin displays the value "20 FR," the minting year "2022," and the inscription "Confoederatio Helvetica." Silver solar energy 20 g - fluorescent.
