Product details
First released in 2017, the Krugerrand will also have a silver continuation in 2025 in the Proof quality. The Proof (PP) finish is particularly sought after by collectors and is one of the most elaborate manufacturing processes for a coin. Its big brother, the South African Krugerrand gold coin, is likely the most well-known investment coin in its segment. Unlike the investment coin, this exclusive silver coin of the Krugerrand in PP is produced by the South African Mint. The delivery of this exclusive silver coin comes in the original coin case with the corresponding certificate of authenticity. The global mintage is limited to just 8,500 pieces.
On the obverse side of the Krugerrand coin is the portrait of South African President Paul Kruger (1882-1902), who is also the namesake of the coin. The term Rand refers to the South African currency, the Rand. Surrounding Kruger's portrait is the inscription of the issuing country Suid-Afrika - South Africa. On the reverse side of the coin, the year of minting 2025 and the legendary Springbok antelope, the national animal of the Republic of South Africa, are depicted. Additionally, a typical South African semi-desert is illustrated in the background of the antelope. Alongside the indication of the fine weight, the initials CLS of the South African sculptor Coert Lourens Steynberg are incorporated on the reverse side.
