The RW 1895 Pilot has all the attributes you would find in a classic tool pilot's watch, including specialised functions and exceptional durability and accuracy. A modern, distinctive pilot's watch with a robust 42mm case and an oversized, protruding screw-down crown that was originally placed on the watch to make it easier for pilots in icy cockpits to operate while wearing gloves. The movement features "hacking seconds", a function often used on field watches to synchronise the time by stopping the movement of the second hand when setting the time. Once the time has been set, the crown is pushed back in and the seconds hand resumes its movement. The functional dial with large hands and bold numerals is luminescent for better legibility. Another ingenious design feature are the rivets on the robust aeroplane leather strap, which were originally attached to prevent the watch from slipping during a flight.
