Product details
Our engineers have designed these sunglasses for hiking. They are ideal for occasional mountain hikes.
The lenses block 100% of harmful UV rays, and category 3 protects against glare effects.
Our lenses are made from polycarbonate – a material that is very impact-resistant but not particularly scratch-resistant.
However, even if the lenses are scratched, the UV protection remains fully intact; the mirror effect is purely aesthetic. The same applies to the color of the sunglasses. Whether gray, brown, or colored, the protection applies to every color.
Classification of tinted lenses according to standard ISO 12312-1: Category 1: lightly tinted lens for reduced sunlight. Category 2: moderately tinted lens for medium sunlight. Category 3: darkly tinted lens for strong sunlight (sea and mountains). Between 82% and 92% of visible light is absorbed. Category 4: very darkly tinted lens for exceptional sunlight (high mountains). Between 92% and 97% of visible light is absorbed.
Why use a material with UV protection? To protect your eyes from invisible UV rays. UV rays are always present, in winter, in summer, in sunny weather, and even on cloudy days, which can be harmful to the eyes.
To maintain eyesight, the lenses of our sunglasses are made from polycarbonate mixed with a material that provides UV protection to shield the eyes from harmful UVA and UVB rays.
