We haven't been on firn yet, but we have been on a few alpine adventures together. I was impressed by the simple design and the fit. The close-fitting, vest-like rucksack sits very comfortably even when scrambling with heavy contents and skis attached. I don't necessarily need the lasso construction for attaching skis without taking the rucksack off, because as a symmetry lover I prefer the A-shape...
