Description Merino Cool represents our new fiber symbiosis of the finest merino wool and the cellulose fiber Tencel. The natural fiber is sourced from sustainably harvested eucalyptus wood and produced using particularly eco-friendly manufacturing processes in Lenzing, Austria. The fiber blend impresses with an extremely pleasant wearing comfort and its triple cooling effect.

The high fiber moisture content (13% vs. 1% for polyester) provides refreshment, while the fiber surface is hydrophilic. This means it stays pleasantly dry and does not feel wet – instead, it feels beautifully cool. Additionally, Tencel harnesses the cooling energy of evaporative cooling. This effect arises from a high moisture absorption capacity and rapid drying properties. Compared to cotton, the fiber absorbs 50% more moisture and dries twice as fast as polyester. Last but not least, refreshment can be even simpler! Smooth fiber surfaces like those of Tencel irritate the skin less than the crinkled surface of cotton, providing a refreshing sensation.

What should also be mentioned alongside the sustainable production and the cool properties of Tencel is that, just like merino wool, the cellulose fiber protects against odor-causing bacteria and is particularly durable – which is also where the name comes from: Tencel = Tenacity + Cellulose.
