Titanium is named in honor of the titans of Greek mythology, which might lead you to believe it is as heavy as the cumbersome giants of old. However, it is only half the weight of steel and yet much stronger. It is corrosion-resistant, lightweight, and strong, well… titanium.

The black color of the Aesop Kash is achieved through physical vapor deposition. In PVD, titanium nitride is heated to a plasma state and shot onto the ring's surface in a vacuum chamber. This method forms a thin ceramic layer that is bonded to the surface on a molecular level. Extremely durable, it won’t chip, is scratch-resistant, and much more environmentally friendly than other types of coatings.
