To put it a bit freakily: In the physical vapor deposition (PVD) process for its black color, titanium nitride is heated until it becomes plasma, which adheres to the surface of the ring and forms a thin black ceramic layer that is bonded at the molecular level. This coating is significantly stronger and more durable than conventional ones and is also better for the environment.

The combination of titanium's strength, its inner curvature, and its extremely durable coating makes this ring one that will outlast everything else in your style arsenal.
