The gold tone in the polished grooves is achieved through physical vapor deposition, where titanium nitride is heated to its plasma state and shot onto the ring's surface in a vacuum chamber. This creates an ultra-thin ceramic layer that bonds with the surface at a molecular level. The result is a golden shine that is much stronger and more durable than traditional gold plating, which does not chip over time and is more environmentally friendly.
