Recycled cotton and recycled polyester. Very large shopping bag with handles made from the same material as the bag. With this project, Kimood completes the circle of the circular economy in a more specific sense. The cotton used comes from the waste generated during the production of cotton products by the brand Kariban and the Kariban Brands product line. The included polyester is sourced from the recycling of PET plastic bottles.

During the recycling process, tracers are added to the yarn, which are viscose and ceramic filaments that serve as a unique digital imprint. The tracers reflect light in a unique way and therefore carry a distinct and unchangeable code. This allows us to uniquely store all information about the processes the yarn has undergone in a blockchain. With the Aware™ Tracer technology and the corresponding blockchain platform, Kimood enables the end consumer to trace the entire production process. This ensures that the product has indeed been recycled using its own waste and without any potential changes to the process. A special label with a QR code provides access to the Aware™ platform and allows for direct authentication of certifications via a simple smartphone.
