The label Flamingos Life was founded in 2015. Their goal is to keep the ecological footprint as low as possible. The Flamingos Life sneakers are produced in small workshops in Spain, within a 40 km radius of Elche, as well as in select models in Portugal. A lot of effort has been put into developing sustainable and resource-saving materials.
The upper material is made from Corn Waste, which, through a special process, feels like leather. Corn Waste is processed from corn leftovers from the harvest. Thanks to the perforations in the toe area, the sneaker is breathable. Bamboo has been used for the lining, which is a rapidly renewable resource. The removable insole is also made from natural materials, incorporating cork and natural rubber. The Heritage outsole is made from natural rubber, a conglomerate of similar natural siliceous materials, and synthetic rubber.
