Care: Wool is very similar to human hair in its chemical structure. Therefore, it should be cleaned as gently as possible, just like washing your hair. Wool hardly absorbs dirt and actually repels it, so clothing made of wool rarely needs washing; airing is usually sufficient. If wool items must be washed, hand washing at a maximum of 30° C is recommended for natural wool. It is also possible to machine wash wool in cold water without spinning. Wool is extremely sensitive to alkalis and therefore also to soap. Use a non-alkaline wool detergent, such as a tried-and-tested wool shampoo, to wash wool. To prevent felting, wool must not be soaked, rubbed, wrung, or brushed. Simply press lightly with your hand. Drying in the sun, on the heater, or in a tumble dryer is not recommended. Lay flat to dry and reshape while damp.
