Our alpine backpack on the go, proven everywhere from the Canadian Rockies to the Fitz Roy massif, the Black Diamond Speed is designed for lightweight performance in rock, snow, and ice objectives worldwide. With an updated BD X-rip 210d fabric featuring UTS coating, the new Speed is built to withstand the rigors of the mountains year after year. The backpack is also fully removable, with a detachable hip belt, lid, and frame sheet to minimize your setup. We have also enhanced comfort with an updated back panel that wicks moisture away and redesigned, dual-density foam straps for better load distribution while keeping it slim on the go. The PickPockets for ice tools now feature a new custom metal ice tool holder that enhances the security of the ice tools. Additionally, the anti-snag crampon straps and a retractable rope strap ensure that gear stays secured on the outside. The main loops of the lid are now mounted on the surface, providing space for gloves, and the drawcord skirt allows for easy access while keeping snow and light precipitation at bay.
