The Japan S shoes take their cue from the design throwback to 1981, with this redesigned generation featuring a flatter silhouette completed with a field sports-inspired toe box and retro color lines. The shoe has been updated with a lightweight design that incorporates a modified cupsole construction for premium comfort and enhanced cushioning. Its legendary style mimics the aesthetic of a retro basketball sneaker, which is complemented by nostalgic Asics branding, such as the tiger stripes on the quarter panels and ASICS lettering on the heel. The retro basketball aesthetic of the Japan S shoe is complemented by iconic court-appropriate design details that were worn by basketball players in the 80s.
