Origin: In the Indus Valley, one of the oldest cradles of humanity between the two Himalayan rivers Indus and Jhelum, lies the Salt Range, a salt mountain that is up to 500 million years old. Our VitaSal Himalayan salt is mined there. The large salt blocks are washed with pure spring water in a village community near the city of Varanasi (North India) and dried in the sun. The salt is then hand-crushed, sifted, ground, and packaged.

VitaSal Project: A young Indian woman and two young Indian men from this village have established a project for the processing of VitaSal in collaboration with the company Alaya. The three young individuals lead this project with great responsibility and transparency. Their employees are fairly compensated, and projects for the village community and socially disadvantaged individuals are supported.
