Tautona Finnish wood sweets

Tautona birch sugar/xylitol stick. Birch sugar in portion sticks. Tautona birch sugar (xylitol) is made from birch bark and beech bark and is produced in Finland (tree-friendly). It contains no colourings or preservatives and is made from 100% European hardwoods. - Xylitol is ideal for making baked goods, desserts and jams and can be consumed hot or cold. - Xylitol has a slightly cooling effect when ingested. - Xylitol can have a laxative effect if consumed in excess and during the familiarisation phase of 4 - 5 weeks. - Xylitol cannot be utilised by yeast and is therefore not suitable for making yeast dough. - Xylitol is not suitable for animal feed. Protect from heat and moisture. Tooth-friendly: Consuming foods/drinks containing xylitol instead of conventional sugar can help to support tooth mineralisation. Calories/carbohydrates: Due to the lower calorific value of xylitol, the usability of carbohydrates is lower than with conventional sugar, as only 25% of xylitol carbohydrates are slowly metabolised in the body. Blood glucose increase (GI): Consuming foods/drinks containing xylitol instead of conventional sugar results in a lower post-meal blood glucose rise compared to conventional sugar. (This also applies to isomaltulose and tagatose, which are also sugar substitutes). 1g xylitol corresponds to the sweetening power of 1g conventional sugar.
