Tautona Birch Sugar is a table sweetener based on xylitol, derived from the Greek word "Xylon" (wood). Around 1890, German chemistry professor Emil Fischer discovered an unknown compound from wood chips, which was named xylitol. In 1902, Dr. Fischer received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his versatile contributions. Xylitol was initially obtained from Finnish birch as a raw material during its use and research, which is why it is also called birch sugar.

Properties:
Tooth-friendly: Consuming xylitol-containing foods and beverages instead of conventional sugar can help support tooth mineralization.
Calories/Carbohydrates: Due to the lower caloric value of xylitol, the digestibility of carbohydrates is lower than that of conventional sugar, as only 25% of xylitol carbohydrates are metabolized slowly in the body.
Blood Glucose Rise (GI): Consuming foods and beverages that contain xylitol instead of conventional sugar leads to a lower blood glucose rise after meals compared to conventional sugar.

Usage: 1 g of xylitol corresponds to the sweetness of 1 g of conventional sugar. During the adjustment phase of 4-5 weeks, birch sugar may have a mild laxative effect. Not suitable for making yeast dough. Not suitable for animal feeding. Protect from heat and moisture.
