Also known as the soy of the North, lupins have no need to hide from the competition from Asia. On the contrary: with around 40 percent protein, lupins top every other vegetable protein supplier. But lupins also have a lot to offer in other respects. The seeds contain all the essential amino acids, including a particularly high amount of lysine. Vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus are also abundant.
The seeds are the only source of protein that does not contain purines - which is beneficial for anyone with high uric acid levels or a susceptibility to gout. Unlike other legumes, lupins are also practically free of flatulence, which makes them well tolerated by people with sensitive stomachs and intestines. Lupins can also be an alternative for those who are allergic to soy.

Preparation
Delicious in salads, for savoury spreads and dips or simply as a snack. With or without shell simply enjoy quickly. For full enjoyment please only heat, do not cook.
