The seeds contain all the essential amino acids, including a particularly high amount of lysine. They are also rich in vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus. The seeds are the only source of protein that does not contain purines - this is favourable for anyone with high uric acid levels or susceptibility to gout. Unlike other pulses, lupins are also practically free from flatulence, which makes them well tolerated by people with sensitive stomachs and intestines. Lupins can also be an alternative for those who are allergic to soya. Preparation: Delicious in salads, for savoury spreads and dips or simply as a snack. Enjoy quickly with or without the peel.
